MEND in 2012
Our programmes, resources and training run all year round, but we’ll be heavily involved in lots of other important work and events during 2012.
National Childhood Obesity Week
The aim of National Childhood Obesity Week is to raise awareness of how being above a healthy weight during childhood can lead to serious health problems later in life. National Childhood Obesity Week will run at the beginning of July.
MEND Move It Week
Move It Week runs during National Childhood Obesity Week every year and spreads a positive message about the benefits of physical activity by encouraging families to spend time being active together. MEND participants and graduates take part in a range of fun physical activities across the UK with their families and friends.
MEND and the Public Health Responsibility Deal
The Public Health Responsibility Deal is a Department of Health-led initiative to encourage business and other organisations to take action to improve public health in England. MEND will be working hard to honour our pledges in the areas of physical activity and health at work.
Change4Life is the Department of Health’s campaign to get people in the UK to be more active and improve what they eat.
MEND will act as a National Third Sector Partner of the Change4Life campaign throughout 2012.
